Seals

On Kangaroo Island, we got to frolic on the beach with seals and sea lions (we're still a bit fuzzy on the distinction between the two). The sea lions go to sea to feed for 3 days at a time, then come ashore and sleep for 3 days. There's still a fair amount of action on shore, with adolescent males playfighting - preparing for the real thing during mating season.

Our favourite was this little guy, who ambled along the beach playing a game of "Are You My Mother?", and receiving a long series of definitive "No!"'s. His mother was probably out fishing, and he was getting hungry.
