A Versatile River!

Launceston has a great river on it's outskirts. Not only does the water for our favourite Australian beer come from this river:

It also houses an antique hydroelectric station:

And releases water for whitewater kayaking competitions!

We watched some exciting whitewater action on the river, then hiked up to the power station for some mechanical engineering history. There is also a swimming pool on the banks of the river, and it seemed like half of Launceston was enjoying the nice weather.
