Our friends and hosts Cory and Elena have a lovely swimming pool in their subdivision. On Memorial Day weekend, we went to a pool party and cook-out and met the neighbours. On the menu was not only burgers and hotdogs, but also crawfish, a local specialty. There is an art to eating them, but once you get over the claws, eyes, and legs, the meat is very tasty.

Just as everyone was digging in, it started to rain in that intense subtropical way, complete with impressive thunder and lightening. Fortunately, this group is well prepared with tents and awnings to weather the storm.
